# **Challenge Overview**  
Generative AI is revolutionizing industries by enabling dynamic, context-aware applications. In this hackathon, participants will build a **real-time RAG application** using **Pathway**, a cutting-edge framework for streaming data processing and AI pipelines.  

Solutions leveraging Pathway’s capabilities for **real-time data ingestion, indexing, and deployment** will receive **priority in selection**, as the core focus is to showcase Pathway’s unique advantages in enterprise AI workflows.

# **Key Objectives**  

### **1. Real-Time RAG Pipeline:**  
- Utilize **Pathway** to ingest and process streaming data (e.g., APIs, file changes, or simulated streams).  
- Implement incremental **vector/hybrid indexing** to ensure the LLM retrieves the most up-to-date context.  
- Deploy the pipeline via **Pathway’s REST API** and integrate a basic UI (**web/CLI**) for querying.  

### **2. Agentic Innovation (Optional):**  
- Integrate frameworks like **LangGraph, Crew AI, or AutoGen** to add autonomous decision-making capabilities (e.g., alerts, multi-step workflows).

# **Why Pathway?**  

✅ **Mandatory Requirement:** Pathway must be the **core orchestrator** for data streams, indexing, and API deployment.  

✅ **Selection Advantage:** Submissions demonstrating **advanced** Pathway features (e.g., **low-latency updates, hybrid search, scalable streaming**) will rank higher. **Non-Pathway solutions will not qualify.**  

✅ **Bonus Opportunities:** Extend **Pathway classes**, implement **agentic error handling**, or process **complex data (tables/charts)** for extra points.

### **1. Technical Implementation (70%)**  
- **Real-time data sync & indexing robustness** (**35%**)  
- **RAG pipeline accuracy and architecture** (**30%**)  
- **REST API deployment quality & documentation** (**15%**)  
- **Functional UI demonstrating real-time updates** (**10%**)  
- **+15% Bonus:** Creative agentic workflows or innovative Pathway extensions  

### **2. Presentation & Demo (30%)**  
- Clear explanation of **Pathway’s role**, live **demo**, and **visual storytelling**
